Ausley McMullen celebrates 45 years sponsoring United States Nationalization Ceremonies.
May 23, 2023
Since 1978 the law firm of Ausley McMullen, in proud partnership with the Tallahassee Bar Association, has sponsored United States Nationalization Ceremonies, conducted at the United States Federal Courthouse for the Northern District of Florida in Tallahassee. During the ceremony, which is typically held four times a year, the applicants become United States Citizens upon taking the oath and participating in the naturalization ceremony.
For 45 years, Ausley McMullen and the Tallahassee Bar Association have worked together to make this a worthy event for these new citizens. Ausley McMullen provides guest speakers to welcome the new citizens and sponsors a reception following the ceremony. The reception includes refreshments, photo opportunities with presiding judges, and a registration table that is staffed by the Leon County Supervisor of Elections where the new citizens have an opportunity to register to vote.
Ausley McMullen attorney Jim Beasley, now retired, began the firm’s tradition of participating in the ceremonies in 1978. Since then, attorneys Mike Glazer, Rob Clarke, Deborah Minnis, Allie Akre and others have served as coordinator. This year Shannon Morris became the latest naturalization ceremony coordinator for Ausley McMullen.
The firm is proud to partner with the Tallahassee Bar Association and continue its sponsorship of the naturalization ceremony as part of its ongoing commitment to give back to the community.
