Ausley McMullen has extensive experience in representing a wide array of health care clients on a broad range of issues.
We regularly represent a broad spectrum of clients in both for-profit and not-for-profit health care, including general hospitals, specialty hospitals, mental health centers, nursing homes, home health agencies, hospices, ambulatory surgical centers, and centers and physicians and other health care professionals among others. Beyond direct care providers, we have clients in the managed care/insurance industry, pharmaceuticals and devices (manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers), pharmacy benefits management and others.
Our representation covers the full range of legal and business issues that face the health care industry. These include administrative, antitrust, bond financing, certificate of need, contract preparation and review, disciplinary actions, finance, fraud and abuse, general corporate, HIPAA, joint ventures, labor, licensing, litigation, managed care, contracting and payment issues, medical staff issues, mental health, mergers and acquisitions, long term care, physician and group practice representation, reimbursement (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.), sale and acquisition of group practices, self-referral and taxation -- just to name a few. We also routinely handle litigation involving health issues before state agencies, including the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings, as well as state and federal trial and appellate courts.
We have broad experience in business operations and regulation of the health care profession by state and federal agencies. A number of our attorneys are also involved with professional organizations related to the health care field. These include The Florida Bar Health Law Section, The Florida Academy of Hospital Attorneys, and the American Health Lawyers Association.
