Biography

Opal McKinney-Williams is a shareholder with the firm has a varied law practice, consisting of governmental law with an emphasis in K-12 education, business bankruptcy with an emphasis in creditor’s rights, litigation, and Florida campaign finance compliance. Opal works with local school boards regarding student discipline, attendance, employment, ESE and public records law compliance. Opal represents clients in administrative, litigation and appellate matters. In addition, she represents creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy proceedings, and has experience in dismissing debtors petitions for cause. Opal also advises political committees and candidates on election law and campaign finance compliance.
Opal’s representative experience includes successfully defending action taken at a school board meeting by demonstrating the board’s actions complied with the Government in the Sunshine Law, and assisting in obtaining dismissals of bankruptcy petitions in several Chapter 11 and 13 cases, thereby obtaining relief for creditor clients.
